Thanks to the many people that have made all this work and my website possible. Thanks to Digital Kitchen and Motion Theory for giving me the opportunity to work with so many talented people and top tier clientele. Thanks to Ryan Rothermel and Sam Rosen for helping me put together this website. A huge thanks to my friend and Emmy Award winning editor Josh Bodnar for helping me cut this reel. Music by Amon Tobin - El Cargo. Check out my reel shotlist breakdown and my resume for more information.

MI6 - Mastering the Momentum

I was approached by Thornberg&Forester to create this insanely energy fueled spot for the opening sequence of the MI6 conference. This daunting task would include environmental design, character animation, a bad-ass Audi R8 and everything in between. Justin Meredith and the team at T&F came up with the concept, design and directed the piece, while I personally handled all the 3D here in Chicago. Together we brought on Steve Talkowski in NY for character modeling, and the character animation came from Jesse Franklin and Ruel Smith at Bluefish FX, in LA. For editorial we teamed up with my boy, Josh Bodnar to slice and dice this thing with his signature style. Big ups to Bill Galusha for producing all this on my end, and Miah Moorehead and T&F for the amazing compositing job.

Nike - Mobius Portal

I recently teamed up with extraordinary designer, Ryan Rothermel to create this surreal promotional spot for the new Nike Shox +M1. We recruited Emmy Award winning editor, Josh Bodnar to help tell the story by adding his unique "slice and dice" style to the project. To further enhance the concept, and add to the madness we had to look overseas for the dark and glitchy audio stylings of German composer, Ben Boysen. All the pieces finally fell into place with the compositing skills of Chicago's very own Matt Crnich and Frank Donnangelo. Also, thanks to Sketchbook Inc. for the modeling. The finished piece has a dark wave disco feeling that we feel really stands out from the crowd. Click below to peep the latest and greatest:

AICP 2008

I was invited by Thornberg&Forester to be the 3d lead and technical director for the task of branding of the 2008 AICP show. Along with the title sequence, I designed these two prints that were the front and back inside covers to the hard cover books that were handed out at the AICP award show. Check out the final AICP 2008 Title Sequence by clicking the image below. Thanks again to Justin Meredith, Scott Matz, Liz Kiehner, Kimberly Abels, Nick Johnnides, Bradley McLaughlin and Miah Moorehead.

Reebok - Wrapshear

Here's an old spot I decided to dust off and repost, an oldie, but a goodie. I did this spot when I was spending all my days at Motion Theory, about 4 years ago. This Wrapshear spot is still one of my favorites to date, something about it still really appeals to me. Man, this was one of the first 3D projects for Greg Gunn, as an intern! How time flies, and look at Greg now ThreeLeggedLegs! Hope you still enjoy it as much as I do.

Beck - Girl

Another Oldie, but Goodie! This is the last production I did with Motion Theory back in the summer of 2005. I think this Beck video was a major turning point for Matthew Cullen becoming a household name in the music video world. Now, he's a Grammy award winning music video director! I feel honored to have worked so closely with the whole crew at MTh for so many years.

Velvet Revolver - Dirty Little Thing

This was my first production that I was VFX supervisor on, and what an awesome first shot it was! Director Mathew Cullen and Motion Theory gave me the honor of leading this high profile music video that included working with Guns n Roses, minus Axle, plus Scott Weiland = Velvet Revolver, and the amazing illustrator Rockin' Jellybean. When all was set and done, my team rocked out about 110 CG shots that where made to look like hand drawn cell animation which we later combined with cell animated characters of the sexy engineer and the band to create this unique, round the world, rock-n-roll adventure, that still stands the test of time.

Sony Playstation Network

Recently, I finished up doing several tags for the Sony Playstation Network with my friends at Thornberg&Forester. These tags were used in several broadcast spots and in the opener to the PSN startup screen. Final composite by Miah Moorehead. Click below to check out the final piece.

Target- Victory

I developed these boards for Target at Digital Kitchen. This spot was to be displayed on large moving HD monitors at Victory Park in Texas. Below you can see how these frames would look when displayed on location. I ended up co-directing this spot with Anthony Vitagliano and did most of the CG, Anthony handled the final composite. Check out the finished piece, Target Imagines, by clicking below.

Target - Core

I developed these boards for Target at Digital Kitchen with Camm Roland, Anthony Vitagliano and Noah Conopask. I think I look pretty good in that race suit. We ended up having a two day shoot in Vegas, needless to say that week was a blast. I CG supervised the shoot and ended up creating the actual cores myself, including all the modeling, lighting and rendering. Final compositing done by Ergin Kuke and Matt Lavoy. Check out the finished piece, Target Core, by clicking below.

Nike ID

This was a print piece for Nike Town in NYC. I did the 3D paint that's forming the shoe. My colleague and designer extraordinaire Shangyu Yin came up with this idea and beautifully composited this piece.

REM - Animal

This was one of the first really big productions I did out of school. At the time, I had been with Motion Theory a few months when this fell in our lap, must have been back in 2003 I think. Anyway, this video really put the pressure on me for the first time in my life, and in the end, I think was the most crucial turning point in my career.

Discovery - Mythbusters

I developed these boards for a Mythbusters promo with Big Smack TV out of Philly. I got to team up again with one of my favorite producers of all time, Kelly Dials. Below you can view some conceptual boards I did along with some stills from the final spot in which I did all the 3D and compositing. The whole concept behind it was Jamie and Adam talking about how "The world is just awesome"! Jamie being the scientific one of the two explains how Mars is too cold, Venus is too hot and everything else is too far away, and that's why our world is just awesome. Meanwhile, Adam laughs off Jamie's logic and just wants to blow something up, hence Mars exploding at the end. (The top four are my presented conceptual boards. The bottom four are stills from the finished spot)

Magazine Illustration

I did these Illustrations with my friend and one of the greatest photographers I know, Michael Elins. The DNA piece was on the cover of Time Magazine. The John Kerry piece was on the cover of Newsweek Magazine. The Hollywood Portfolio was done for the annual Vanity Fair Hollywood edition. The sexy piece, titled "Desire", was also done for Time Magazine. All final composites were done by Michael Elins.
